The town of Haysi is featured in this month’s Example of Awesome, as the community came together to market its envious natural landscape, while our Pearisburg update shows how the town turned trash from the New River into artwork.
Belinda Sheridan of the Procurement Technical Assistance Center provides an expert tip on how town leaders can utilize the center’s services to bring money into their communities. Virginia Tech faculty member Nikki D’Adamo-Damery heads the Appalachian Foodshed Project, which supports community food projects in western North Carolina, southwestern Virginia, and West Virginia, while Kevin Spurlin of the Virginia Cooperative Extension works with the Virginia Household Water Program, serving residents in Grayson County.
